ALL BELIEVERS ARE NOT DISCIPLES and all disciples are not believers. Judas is an example of someone who was a disciple, but NOT A BELIEVER. Judas went to Hell after he committed suicide, but not because he committed suicide. Most Christians are not disciples. Read I & II Corinthians where we have people called saints because of their trust in what Christ did for them at the cross, but living in all kinds of sin. Paul urges them to become disciples. One becomes saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, and one becomes a disciple by faithful obedience in continuing in the Word. To make discipleship a necessary part of salvation is to add works to salvation. Matthew 7:22,23 speaks of disciples that are not believers. "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you."
